Urban Decay's Naked Palette

Urban Decay's Naked Palette is their bestseller palette of all time. I mean, who wouldn't fall in love with it? I've read a lot of makeup blogs raving about it or lemming about it. Even when there is a pre-loved makeup sale and the Naked Palette is in the list, it's one of the first few to be sold.

The Naked Palette is my second palette from Urban Decay. There's honestly nothing I don't love about it.

The Naked Palette comes with an eyelid primer (Primer Potion) and an eyeshadow brush. When it was first released, it came with a 24/7 eye pencil. Some prefer the eyeliner better then the brush. But for me, I like the brush better. You can used the dark eyeshadows to line our eyes.

Oh, the brush does the job. It delivers!

I've been using this palette alternately with my Naked2 palette. I honestly can't say which one I love more. It seems like I love them equally.

My fave eyeshadows in this palette are Smog, Darkhorse, and Gunmetal!

Tryin Out Kimono

It's apparent that one of the latest craze today is the Kimono. Of course, it's nice to have what's currently in style. But sometimes, we have to be practical as well. If you just want to wear a piece of clothing that's currently in, you don't need to shell out so much. Like this kimono for example. I've seen a kimono being sold in a department store for almost Php3,000. No kidding. And it was just a plain black kimono. Perhaps, it's the rent they pay for the space at the mall. But still.

So, off to Online Shops I ~~went~~ surfed. I was able to find a kimono at a very affordable price. Bubbles sells kimono for Php400 only!! They have a lot of designs to choose from!

Everytime I wear these heels, I always get the question (minimum of 2 a day) if the shoes is Louis Vuitton.

I don't remember how much I got these for. But it's probably around USD150-250.

This is my third pair of shoes (all heels) from Michael Kors. Their shoes are really comfortable, I kid you not. I just love love love this brand! Even my boyfriend loves it as well!

Last Friday, I headed to SM Department Store to finally buy Ever Bilena matte lipsticks. I've seen this lipstick several times in different blogs and the reviews are always good. I've checked the shades before and swatched them and I was impressed with the shades.

So, after finalising, here's the mini haul from last Friday.

I also saw Asian Secrets and thought I'd try it cos they have a very beautiful and hot endorser (Solenn Heusaff)!

The Most Awaited Naked2 Palette

After one month and a half of waiting, I finally have the sequel to Urban Decay's Naked Palette!

A lot has been said about this palette. I actually don't know if whatever I'm gon say about this palette hasn't been said yet. As per Naked2, this palette has 5 new shades. Although, honestly speaking, I don't know what those 5 new eyeshadows are because I don't have a lot of Urban Decay palette/makeup.

The colors of the eyeshadows are promising particularly if you're the type of person who loves neutral shades. This palette is perfect for the no-makeup makeup look. It's a combination of matte and shimmer eyeshadows. However, there is one major turn off in this palette - Half Baked is included. Half Baked is already included in the Naked Palette. I don't understand why it's included in Naked2. The slot could have been another pretty neutral shade! As for the quality, 11 of the eyeshadows are pigmented except for Foxy. I swatched it for about 4 times already and yet it was still kind of invisible on my skin. Even though there are a lot of shimmer eyeshadows, you won't experience major fallout once you apply them on your lids unlike other brands.

As for the packaging, I would have to say that the Naked Palette has outdone itself. The tin case is love! It looks way classy than the Naked palette. Add the fact that you don't have to worry if it will open by itself inside your bag. I love how its lock is so secured. Oh, and can I mention that it has a bigger mirror, too?! It makes the application easier and faster!

Another turn off for me is how YDK was placed on the palette. It's the only eyeshadow that's a bit slanted. But I could live with it. Something minor that bugs you the moment you see it.

Naked2 Palette comes with a dual crease and shadow brush and a lipgloss. One reason why I was smitten to get this palette was because of the brush that comes with it. The brush alone costs a lot! They did not include a primer potion for the Naked2 palette and I'm assuming they have done so to differentiate the two Naked palettes. Yeh, it would have been better if it came with a primer. But the lipgloss isn't so bad. You can just put an eyeshadow, swipe some gloss, then you're good to go! Plus, I know a lot of people that do not use eye primer! Yes, true story. From my observation, only makeup addicts know what a primer really is for.

All in all, this palette is worth your money. It retails at USD50 and comes with a dual brush and lipgloss when this could actually cost you about USD200 if you buy them separately. I bought this online at Urban Decay's official website and I got a 24/7 eyeliner in Corrupt.

If you have the Naked palette, perhaps you could pass on this palette. If you don't have the first Naked palette, then you might want to think which one you would prefer more. If you're a makeup addict, get both. They're both warm colors anyway. Some say that you could do more looks with the Naked palette than the Naked2 palette. But if you ask me, I think you could do a lot of looks with this Naked2 palette as well. There's a black matte eyeshadow. We all know how black can do wonders.

As of the moment, I'm liking this better than the Naked palette cos of Busted and Pistol!

This is one of my last purchases for 2011. Digital Traincase had a sale until 3 January 2012 , I think. I've always wanted to try this Matte Lipstick but this was out of stock during the bazaar.

I like the shade of the lipstick. It's just a tad darker than my favorite MAC matte lipstick in Please Me. This shade is totally wearable. I know it looks light on the photo that I have provided. But if the lipstick is taken without flash, it looks like a different color. But the color payoff is not compromised. However, since this is matte, it defines the lines on your lips. You may opt to use a lip balm prior to lipstick application but this defeats the purpose of using a matte lipstick. This matte lipstick stay on for a few hours or is good until your next meal - the usual lasting power (or the lack thereof) of NYX lipsticks. So, if you don't mind retouching, then you might want to try this lipstick.

If you ask me if I will buy this lipstick again, the answer is yes with a but. Yes because I like the shade and its affordability. But I wouldn't buy anytime soon even if I finish the tube right away because I have one too many lipsticks.

VMV Hypoallergenic's Simple-Gentle Skin-Saving Toothpaste

Remember my post regarding VMV haul last December? I've been using the products since then and I think a month is quite enough to make a review about them.

VMV's toothpaste is not like any other toothpaste. The most noticeable feature of it is the fact that it is not minty at all. Though it produces bubbles once you start brushing your teeth, it doesn't produce that much bubbles as normal toothpastes do. The toothpaste is created this way to help prevent breaking out in the chin area. Apparently, fluoride can cause break out of pimples in that area. This toothpaste helps in preventing breaking out and I've seen the improvement on my chin.

One important thing that I don't like about this is the fact that it is not even half full despite its hefty price. If you notice on the photo above, it's only about 1/3 filled only. The photo was taken before I started using it. The fact that it contains little toothpaste and you paid Php510 is a major turn off.

Am I buying this product again? NO. I don't want to spend so much on a product that cheats on packaging even though it delivers. I would just rather take extra care of my chin area using other products from Dra. Belo.

Finally fulfilled my tassel accessory lemming!

I've been seeing tassel necklaces and earrings left in right especially in bazaars. But I always go home not buying one cos I find it expensive for a fad. I would have given in right away if it were clothes but they're not. Last bazaar that I went to was the Port88 bazaar and I was told that the tassel necklace ranged from Php650 and the tassel earrings ranged at Php350.

I don't exactly remember how I reached Bubbles' page but I'm glad I did and I had great timing too cos she had her items on sale! The most expensive item was sold for Php150. Good find!

Feeling Neutral

Recently, I've been buying clothes that I consider Fashyon. I'm an employee. Although, my employer does not require me to wear an office uniform, I am obviously required to wear corporate clothes. So, buying Fashyon clothes is something that shouldn't be on my top list because I wouldn't be able to wear them often.

But of course, being the shopaholic that I am, I seemed, conquered, and hauled. Haha.

Just like what Das Shoes told me about my astrological sign, I am a go-getter.

Benefit They're Real! Mascara

We've all heard about Benefit's BadGal Lash Mascara. A lot of beauty bloggers have raved about it. But They're Real! Mascara has been receiving a lot of praises as well. Should I say, it has been raving? Haha!

When Benefit's flagship store opened in Manila last 15 December 2011, I decided to purchase this mascara all because it is newer than Bad Gal.

So what's my verdict? Let's see the photos first.

Panda eyes after a few hours

I like this product because it delivers when it comes to volume and length. It does emphasize my lashes and curl them a bit without even using an eyelash curler. It has a unique brush which has its cons and pro. Uniqueness is both a pro and con because you can hardly use the top brush cos it's filled with mascara. What I hate most about this product is that it gives me Panda eyes a few hours after application. I checked on some reviews about this mascara and this was mentioned several times. Even with the Bad Gal lash, it was mentioned as well. Another turn off about this product is that it's expensive. For a mascara that gives you Panda eyes, it shouldn't cost Php1,200.

To those who want to adopt this baby and try their luck, please let me know.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

I know you have heard a lot of things about NYX's matte lip cream. What else has not been said? Hehe.

This is included on my make up top picks for 2011. I've always wanted to try a matte red lipstick because of watching Captain America twice. But I did not want to shell out on Nars or MAC lipstick.

I've actually had these babies for awhile (I've been using Stockholm since August) and I always catch myself looking for these lip creams when I don't know what to put on my lips.

I didn't post a photo of me wearing Stockholm because I have already posted a photo on my previous post of myself wearing it. I love these lip creams! Of course it has its cons of defining your lip lines but it's bearable for me. I do not mind retouching. Sometimes, I use EOS lip balm prior to application of the lip cream. But doing that defeats the purpose of the lip cream being matte. I don't mind though. If I'm not mistaken, these lip creams are available in 12 shades and I'm thinking of getting all the shades or at least restocking these 3 lip creams that I have. My only tip to those who haven't tried this lip cream is this: if you don't mind showing a bit of lip lines, then try this. If it matters to you a whole lot (showing of lip lines), then ditch this product.

Aside from the leopard print flats that I bought from the bazaar, I finally bought a pair of flats trom Soleil flats. What sold me was the shoes bag that cane with it. I mean it's truly a must have! Definitely way better than bringing a paper bag with your shoes in there!

Review: E.L.F. Lipstick

I've always been curious about E.L.F.'s lipsticks because of its affordable price. It's also the same reason why I haven't bought their lipstick until Thanksgiving day. I shell on on YSL and Shu Uemura lipsticks because I know they deliver. Paying Php1,500+ for one lipstick is no joke. But spending on a lipstick that is less than Php200 is no joke either.

Everytime I go to a department store and see E.L.F.'s station, I would always as in always swatch they lipsticks but would never buy. But when everything had a discount on Thanksgiving day, I finally decided to buy them. The boyfriend helped me in choosing what shades to get.

E.L.F. lipstick in Voodoo (red one) and Classy (pink one)

Pros:

- available at leading department stores

- affordable - only Php129.75

- no weird scent

- color pay off is good

- convenient packaging as you can see the shade from the outside

- Voodoo feels like a satin lipstick while

- Classy somewhat feels like lustre

Cons:

- only four shades to choose from (Classy, Voodoo, Seductive, Gypsy)

- poor staying power

- somewhat hard to apply; doesn't glide smoothly

- poor packaging; kind of difficult to turn

- easily stains on anything the lip touches

- requires retouch every time your lips will touch something

- Voodoo feels like a satin lipstick while

- Classy somewhat feels like lustre

Even though these lipsticks do not deliver like my other lipsticks, I still like them. It's most likely because of the shades. I really really like Voodoo because it's not bluish red. It's kind of dark red actually in person. And I prefer that kind of red then bright red. As for Classy, I also like how its shade screams sweet and sexy at the same time. The shade somewhat reminds me of MAC's Please Me - only it's not in matte. But of course, I really hate the staying power or the lack thereof.

I'm not sure if I will buy this item again but as of the meantime, I enjoy using it. For those that do not mind retouching lipsticks every so often, then you might want to try this lipstick. The available shades are really nice.

Cherie Leopard Flats

As I've mentioned here in my blog, I am currently addicted to animal prints. Last week, I went to the Port 88 bazaar to get something for a friend. I had no plans of buying anything. However, I ended up with a haul again.

One of the things I bought was this pair of flats.

It was one of those love at first sight shoes. However, I've been having a lot of love-at-first-sight recently. The fact that it's an animal print is a given. What sold me was the red lining at the back of the shoes. It added more attitude.

You can buy this pair at High Style Fancy. They are actually selling a lot of shoes. It's like you're in shoe heaven most especially if you are into heels like me!

Benefit Cosmetics' Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow & Concealer Primer

Who would have thought that concealer has a primer too?

If you think about it, a concealer is comparable to an eyeshadow. It can be cream, powder, etc. If eyeshadows have a primer, then it would also be fitting that concealers have primers, too.

Honestly speaking though, this is the first time I have ever heard of a concealer primer. Or at least that's what I remember. That's why when I saw this "set" (if you can call it that), I immediately bought it. The set comes with the primer, Erase Paste, and the 2011 Best Beige eyeshadow for 2011 as per Allure Magazine.. Cream Eyeshadow in Birthday Suit.

I deeply appreciate the intent of Stay Don't Stray Primer. However, I kind of find it difficult to apply. You have to be extra careful in applying it cos if you apply too much, it will appear too white around your eyes. It takes awhile to get used to it. I'm liking the Erase Paste concealer. This salmon concealer makes my eyes brighter than my MAC NC30 concealer. As for the Birthday Suit cream eyeshadow, I also like the color but it's kind of reminiscent of Stila's Kitten eyeshadow.

Overall, I don't mind buying the primer and concealer once I finish them. I believe these products will be available at Benefit's flagship store in Greenbelt 5. I'm just not sure if you can buy the set or if it's a Sephora exclusive.

My MAC 190 Bids Goodbye

I lost more than half of my Charm brushes two or three weeks ago. Then today, my short handled MAC 190 decided to fall off when I was putting on makeup this morning.

I think I can glue it to make it stick but the strands are separating into several partitions when I tried to put it back. Hassle.

Impulsive VMV Haul

Last night, i went to the mall to look for DUO eyelash adhesive as I need it tomorrow. So, I went around the department store to look around. But when I saw the stall of VMV Hypoallergenics, I just had to stop and check their counter.

I initially asked for their Elation Shampoo but the sales assistant said that their hair care is from the Essence line only. I asked for bottles of shampoo and conditioner so I could them a try. They also offered me the glycerin soap from the same line and I thought I'd give it a try too. Then, I asked for their toothpaste since my chin is forever breaking out! Ooh, I also asked for the creammy moisturizer but it is currently out of stock. Sigh, it has got to be my current favorite moisturizer and my tube is almost empty.

I also added to my haul a volumizing brush from Goody and a clear nail polish from Caronia. I couldn't find DUO so I settled with the one that I saw at Beauty Bar.

If you notice, the makeup that mostly comprises of this blog is lipstick. I love lipstick with all my heart that even saying that a million times does not justify it. There's just something about lipsticks that make me want it even more and more.

If I'm into lipsticks, then of course I might be putting something on my lips prior to lipstick application. I have several lip balms, lip erase, and lip primers. But I never had a favorite.

Not until I met EOS lipbalm!

I've been using it since August and I haven't used any of my lip balms ever since. I really really love this product because it makes my lipsticks stay longer (particularly my NYX lipsticks).

I totally recommend this product to all lippie junkees out there!

Review: Tony Moly Lovely Eyebrow Pencil

I am probably the last beauty blogger to rave about Tony Moly or talk about it at least. When Tony Moly opened its shop in Manila, I was on what I'd like to call make-up hiatus. I have a lot of makeup that I still haven't opened until now (hello palettes) and I've been trying to fulfill my New Year's list in which one of the items in it was to stop buying unnecessary makeup.

However, I dyed my hair dark brown which turned out to be almost black. It somewhat bothers me seeing my eyebrows dark brown since my NYC eyebrow pencil is brown.

I'm currently a cheapskate because Christmas is just around the corner so I looked for an eyebrow pencil that isn't to steep on the pocket.

So, I thought it's time to try Tony Moly :)

Tony Moly Lovely Eyebrow Pencil in Gray (#2)

Pros:

I am loving this product! I know they pencil is gray but because it's really pigmented, I only need a few strokes to achieve the kind of black that comes close to my hair color. Another thing that makes me like this product even more is the fact that it is easy to apply. If you have been reading my blog, I admitted that I'm not good at the eyebrow department. I just can't get it right. Well, I still can't get it right with this eyeliner. But my brows look way better when I'm using this compared to my brown eyebrow pencil. Perhaps it's because of the fact that it glides on smoothly. It doesn't build on a certain part of my eyebrow which usually causes uneven application of the color. Since this is pigmented, I think this pencil will last me for a long time.

This product is definitely a must try. It's worth it, I swear!

OOTD: Rajo + Leopard

Earlier this month, Rajo Laurel released his collection for his collaboration with SM Parisian. It was officially available last 15 November at SM Department Stores. A lot of women went gaga to get a pair. And I was one of them. I was very lucky to get the pair that I wanted! (note: last pair of my size) This is one of those times that I like being a size 8 (although I'm a true 7).

The shoes are very comfy, honestly. But the question is, when and where can I wear it? This has always been my problem when it comes to shoes. I really really love shoes and most of the shoes that I fancy are not the ones that can be worn on a daily basis. I have about 10 pairs of shoes that I haven't worn until now. Still waiting for the right time to wear them haha!

I'm currently loving VMV Hypoallergenics' Essence shampoo and conditioner. It smells so good on my hair. What I love the most is the hair conditioner cos it has a "big hint of mint." I just love how it feels on my scalp. I am not a fan of mint but the sensation it gives on my scalp is simply amazing.

I only have travel sizes of the shampoo and conditioner. I'm definitely buying the regular size once I finish the bottles. They are so worth it, I tell you.

Browgraphy at Browhaus

If there is one thing I do not like about my face, it is none other than my eyebrows. I don't like everything about it. The shape. Its unevenness. It has a life on its own, simply put. I'm one of those people that cannot draw the perfect eyebrows.

So, I went to Browhaus to try my luck again. The first time I went there was for threading only. I went this time to try their Browgraphy since I have a 20% off GC. Browgraphy is basically threading + brow dye (bleach) whichever the proper term is.

The session did not take too long. It only lasted more or less 40 minutes. I told the lady that I wanted my eyebrows to be dark brown. She said she had to dye it lighter first then dark to achieve the shade that I wanted.

I loved my eyebrows the moment the lady who threaded my brows said it was done. It looked perfect. It was the mataray eyebrows that I've always wanted. The boyfriend said I looked too mataray with the brows but it was still okay. I was also told by the lady that the color of my brows would last for at least a week. And I firmly believed them. After all, Browgraphy costs Php1,280 so I thought they are credible enough.

However, after taking a shower the following day, my brows didn't look like that anymore. My brows looked lighter again. In short, FAIL.

I'll still go back to Browhaus to have my eyebrows done. But I will never try Browgraphy ever again.

Doing last minute christmas shopping for relatives and for me too!

There are alot of things I'm thankful for. I'm even thankful for the fact that I'm currently unemployed.

As I've said in my previous post, I have been lemming for a satchel for several months now. And it was only this month that I finally satisfied my lemming. I try to use my satchel as often as I can. I even compromise what I wear with the satchel at times. That's how much I'm loving them satchels.

Pink and Purple Nail Art

I love nail art although you will usually see me wearing pain polish. It's restricted to wear very bold colors. But I just had to try my luck. So, I bought myself some nail art stickers, applied them to my nails, and wore it to work!

I used Etude House's baby pink polish as base for the nail art.

Benefit's Some Kind-a Gorgeous, the Foundation Faker

Part of being addicted to make-up is trying out different brands out there. But to be honest, as much as I am addicted to make-up, I am not that brave in just trying out any brands out there, especially if I'm shelling out money - even the products that some swear by. Unless, of course, you receive beauty products to review. That is a different story.

My first Benefit Cosmetics item was their lip balm, Benetint. I hated the scent because I couldn't distinguish if it smelled of Rose or what. I really loved how it always made my lips looked naturally red though. I emptied 3 Benetints and stopped using it before I graduated from college because it wasn't locally available in Manila. Boo to that. And if ever it was, they sold it twice its original price (Sephora sells it for USD18 or USD20).

Since my affair with Benefit Cosmetics did not go so well, their other products didn't entice me enough. Sure, the packaging is lovely. But that was not enough for me to try their products again.

Not until I received a package containing Benefit Cosmetics.

Apologies for the scary mug shot. It's hard to look that good when you've only had about 3 hours of sleep and couldn't figure out exactly how to use a new beauty product. Hehe.

Pros:

- enticing packaging

- shades are true to color

- mousse type (or something that feels like it)

- blends perfectly

- no irritation upon using it

Cons:

- does not come with an applicator (you have to use your fingertips to apply it)

- not hygienic

- mousse type (can be a pro or con)

So it all boils down to one question, did I like it?

To what its worth, yes I like it. This is the first time that I've tried a foundation(faker) with this kind of texture. I usually use powder or liquid. This foundation faker blends perfectly. Definitely your skin but better. I also like the fact that I received several compliments upon completing my make-up. I usually put on the same look when I go to the office so I rely on the compliments I get whenever I use a new beauty product.

One thing I don't like about it though is that you have to apply it using your fingertips. I tried using a foundation brush and it won't transfer to the brush. It just made the foundation a tad dirty since something (like a small strand of I don't know what) blended in the foundation. It's not hygienic at all so it would be difficult to let your friends try this product using your own.

I'm not sure if I will buy this product again but I think I'll try other (foundation) products of Benefit Cosmetics.

Benefit Cosmetics will be locally available in Manila starting this December 2011 in Greenbelt 5. So, ladies be prepared for a haul!

This is my first nail polish from NYX and I love it! The thickness of the polish is just right; it's consistent. It dries fast. Most importantly, no chapping! For the price of Php90, this is really a great deal!

Oh, and did I mention how pretty it looks on my nails. Gives my hands a fairer looking skin!

Haul at Super Sale Bazaar

I wanted to go to the bazaar to look for a particular blouse. When the boyfriend and I got there and went around a few booths, I thought I was going home empty handed.

But boy was I wrong! So wrong! I went home with these goodies....

The Make Up Store sells their NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream for Php280. If it's pre-order, it becomes cheaper for Php240 only! Their NYX Nail Polish retails at Php95. As for Starmaine Shop, their NYX Nail Polish retails at Php90 only! I am so loving the fact that NYX is becoming widely available here in the Philippines through these sellers. I was also quite surprised that there were a lot of make-up booths at the bazaar. I think there were more then 10 booths selling make-up! Another thing I loved about this bazaar was finding out there are a lot of NYX make-up sellers that sell it at a lower price. I bought my first NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream for Php350 and that is the regular price. Saving Php70 would mean alot cos I'll be able to buy more make-up. Hehe!

I actually think I'm becoming addicted to this print to the point that every time I see clothes I fancy, I check if they have it in animal print. I finally found the skirt that I have been looking for. Well, to be honest I actually haven't been looking for it because I'm too lazy to go around the mall to look for that kind of skirt. But I know that I've been wanting that kind of skirt for over a year now. And yes, I also wanted the skirt in Nude/Beige. The bazaar closed around 9pm and when we were on our way out, we passed by this certain booth. At first, I wasn't aware it was Glitterati's booth. The skirt was displayed right in the middle of the booth and in front too. So you wouldn't miss it. I tried it on and realised that yes, it was the skirt that I wanted. It was on sale for Php700. but being unprepared for this bazaar, I had to use my credit card. They only accept credit card for purchases of Php1,000 and up so I grabbed another skirt.

I finally have a Samurai Umbrella! The boyfriend and I have been looking for this for months now. We always see people after work sporting this Samurai Umbrella. We even went to Divisoria last month or two months ago to check if they have it there. Unfortunately, they don't. Some stalls said it was out of stock. Some said they do not have it at all. I seriously miss my long hair! Had I not cut my hair last July, I think it would be that long (the one of the photo). I'm not regretting. I just miss my long hair hehe. I thought of buying this but decided against it because there is a big bump at the back of my hair. My hair is too thin that the extensions seem obvious. I would have purchased this if not for that big bump.

GEO Contact Lenses

My first attempt to try circle lenses was last November 2010. I bought Geo lenses in G! Store in Hong Kong. I bought it for about HKD100 per pair. I bought the ones that make my eyes really black. At first, some people got scared of my eyes til they got used to it. If you ask me, I like how it makes my eyes look big and gives me that anime look.

The pair I bought dried out around May or June of this year and it is only recently that I decided to buy Geo lenses again. Shell life is 3 years and it's supposed to last for a year once you start using them. But I guess it also depends on how much you abuse using these lenses.

The black circle lenses are the ones that I opened among the three since I got them a month earlier. My mom bought it in Hong Kong. But this time, the price went up to HKD180 per pair. That is more or less Php1,100 per pair.

I immediately checked out Japanesecandy to see their prices only to find out that you can purchase two pairs for Php1,000 only! Without any nitty-gritty, I placed an order and got the lenses after two days!

I'll post photos of my eyes once I've opened and start using the other two lenses!

After years of searching for the perfect red lipstick, I think I finally found mine! I'm pleased to introduce to you, Snow White!

It has the right amount of red which I love to bits. It's not shocking red, brick red, etc etc. It's red. This has got to be the best shade of red that I have so far. It honestly beats all my red MAC lipsticks.

I'm giving this a 10/10 despite the fact that this never stays long on my lips. I don't mind retouching my lips every so often if this is the lipstick that I'm using.

It was love at first sight when I saw these wedges. I tried not to give in but it wouldn't leave my mind for a week so I just had to go back to the mall and buy it.

I really love wedges because it's really comfortable to wear and it gives you the illusion of being tall.

Review: Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes Palette

After a week of deciding what palette to get, I finally decided on getting Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes Palette in GD886. I've asked the sales assistant in SM Makati which is the bestseller and she showed me two palettes. I don't remember what the other palette it but the shade is somewhat similar to GD886.

And just my luck, Majolica Majorca Jeweling Palettes were on sale for the month of October! Palettes were 20% or you can buy the Jeweling Palette and their pencil eyeliner for Php1,000.00 only.

The palette comes with a make-up tutorial and is numbered from 1 (lightest) to 4 (darkest). I decided to follow the instructions and used the applicator that came with it to see how the tutorial will fare with my usual application.

How to apply: (Majolica Majorca's make-up tutorial)

Use thick tip and apply Jeweling Color to the inner eye corner and under the eyebrow.
Use the thick tip and apply Nuance Color to the eyelid up to the eye socket.
Use the thin tip and apply Shadow Color from the outer eye corner to the middle of the eyelid.
Use the think tip and apply Line Color along the upper lash line and to one-third of the lower lash line from the outer eye corner.

I actually thought I was going to love this on my first try. As it turns out, I am quite disappointed with this palette. I never knew until today that Majolica Majorca eyeshadows are not pigmented. Sure it might be buildable but I would prefer if one swipe from the eyeshadow to my lids would be enough. Also, the make-up tutorial is in Japanese so I had to analyse it on my own. I just don't understand why it's not visible on the camera. The fiance loves it so much on my eyes.

However, this is just an initial review. I will still be using this palette and re-review this again. But next time I'll be using my Urban Decay Primer in Greed. It's an eye primer in gold and is suggested to be used for shimmery eyeshadows. I hope I won't be disappointed when I used them together.

Floral Shoes Lovin'

I've been looking for this kind of Mary Janes shoes for quite some time now. I really wanted the one from Jeffrey Campbell but of course it's not locally available here. I know this shoe is all over Multiply sites - those JC inspired ones. Unfortunately, the sites that sell this (in which I have sent a message to; I even sent text messages) have not given me a response until now. Really! What a shame.

But guess what I saw while walking around the mall? JC Foxy inspired shoes! It's an inch shorter than JC but it's fine with me :)

Review: MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Bare Again

The Sheen Supreme Lipstick was launched last March in the US. However, methinks it was only released here in Manila last week.

Since I got a tube that's really pink on my lips, I also got a neutral one when I feel like toning down on makeup.

Review: MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Ultra Darling

After Pro Longwear comes Sheen Supreme. These two lipsticks are somewhat alike. They're supposed to have longer staying power than regular MAC lipsticks. Their major difference is the gloss.

Retractable Kabuki Brush

One of the things I don't like about brushes is that they don't always have a brush guard. It has to be bought separately. Thank goodness there are retractable brushes. However, the most common retractable brush is the blush brush. I haven't really seen a retractable face brush -- and I didn't start searching for one until my mom asked me.

She was having problems with the powder brush I gave her because it doesn't come with a brush guard. I told her I haven't seen one except for a retractable brush though it's usually small.

BUT..

Look what my mom saw in Hong Kong.

I'm liking this brush because it's retractable! It's bigger than the usual kabuki brushes available here. It looks like a retractable brush actually only this one is thicker. Also, it's pretty cheap for a retractable brush. this is less than Php250 where as most retractable brushes here start at Php500 and up!

Pros:

- works well with the liquid foundation

- gives a flawless look

- covers the shimmer of the liquid foundation

- comes with a mirror and brush

- doesn't make your face uber lighter than your skintone

Cons:

- packaging is not the usual size of a compact

No doubt this works well with the liquid foundation. I have yet to try this with a different liquid foundation to see it will have the same effect.

I consider myself a late bloomer on this product line of Revlon. I'm actually not sure when they launched Photoready but I'm guessing it was around 2009. Almost all brands are coming up with high-definition makeup and this it Revlon's line for that. I only got a hold of this product last December 2010.

Pros:

- easy to blend

- a little goes a long way

- long-lasting; no need to retouch

- gives medium - heavy coverage

- evens out skin without putting concealer on my dark spots (except eyebags)

- a lot of shades to choose from

- packaging is hygienic cos pump is included

- inexpensive (got mine for USD15.99 together with the Photoready Powder)

- inexpensive for an HD makeup

- I didn't get any allergies from this product

Cons:

- packaging is heavier compared to other liquid foundation

(Photoready liquid foundation is in a ceramic instead of hard plastic packaging)

I'm liking this product that I actually kind of regret not purchasing this earlier. It would have saved me money by skipping other products. This product retails here in Manila at Php995.00. I just got lucky that this was on sale (but one, take one) when my mom was in the states last year. I like liquid foundation better than powder foundation because I hate to retouch on normal days. This perfectly works well on my skin. This product is available at leading department stores and I suggest you give this a try.

OOTD: My Favorite Corporate Outfit

It's nice not having an office uniform because you get to dress up, look smart and sophisticated at the same time. However, it's kind of a hassle to repeat office clothes frequently. I try not to repeat the same ensemble within the same month. I wait about a month or two to wear it again.

This is why I took a photo of my favorite corporate outfit. It's a simple outfit really that stands out. I seriously received tons of compliments about this outfit (specifically the blouse) during those 3 times I've worn it.

blouse: H&M

pants: Zara

shoes: Aldo

The blouse is actually striped. White pin stripes on baby blue. When you fold the wrist part, it's baby blue stripes on white with wider spacing between the stripes. The texture of the blouse is not the gusot type. It always looks perfectly ironed. Seriously. The pants make my legs look way way thinner that it actually is. My Also stilletos compliment the outfit as well as it makes me sexy sans daring clothes.

Another thing that I love about the blouse is that it only costs HKD149.00 (less than PHP1,000.00). It comes in 9 designs and I bought 3. I'm actually regretting that I didn't get all because I really really love the fit!

Review: Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus

I, for one thing, can usually skip applying mascara when putting on makeup. It's either I put on my favorite falsies or I just leave my eyelashes bare.

Applying mascara is not my thing, simply put.

A lot of beauty bloggers have raved about Majolica Marjorca's mascara. I think one reason it's kinda hyped up here in Manila is because it's not available here. In Hong Kong, Majolica Majorca is a drugstore brand like Maybelline, Revlon, etc etc. And I've never given much thought about trying it. During one of my trips to HK last 2010, I decided to purchase their mascara. It wasn't exactly because I changed my mind about mascaras. It was more of, I couldn't think of something else to purchase. You know that feeling that you just have to buy something at the beauty section?? Yeh, my thoughts exactly.

So, there I was at Watson's standing in front of Majolica Majorca's kiosk because I had no idea which mascara to get!

Lash Expander Frame Plus, HKD119.00

Awarded as Best Mascara

Lash Comb

Pros:

- holds the curl for more than 8 hours

- does the job of expanding lashes horizontally

- good packaging

Cons:

- not locally available

- quite expensive mascara for a drugstore brand

- instructions are in Japanese and has no translation (definitely not recommended for first-time users)

- gets messy as it has the tendency to transfer to lower lashes

- doesn't volumize nor lenghtens the lashes; it expands them haha

I probably won't purchase another tube. Staying power is good. But it's not the only component I need in a mascara.

Review: MAC Matte Lipstick in Please Me

Part of my MAC haul in Duty Free was this lipstick. I was actually torn between this and Creme Cup but Please Me won since I don't have a lot of matte lipsticks.

- one of MAC's bestselling shades

- can be worn day and night

- long lasting power

- pigmented

- glides on easily on lips despite being matte

Cons:

- show lines of your lips

- not available at all MAC counters

I'm really loving this lipstick because of its shade. Although I'm not a big fan of pink, I appreciate pink lipsticks. This lipstick can be worn day and night. Use it during office hours with light makeup on. Match it with smoky eyes at night! However, I have to retouch every now and then when I use this lipstick. Its not because the staying power is bad. It actually lasts long. It's just that it has the tendency to go all over my lips and eventually show and emphasize the lines of my lips. Ergo, retouch retouch.

If you like pink lipsticks, I definitely recommend this. After all, it's one of MAC's bestselling shades.
